Keeping organized is no easy feat. It takes a lot of time to get organized from the start and to keep on being organized going forward. Often, it’s just easier to dump things at the most convenient spot possible. But in the long run it will take so much more to organize later after so many things have piled up. In order to stay organized there are some ways to make it easier on yourself and more importantly the rest of your family.
By properly labeling things with permanent sticker or tags everybody will know exactly where things are supposed to go. No more excuses of “I didn’t know where to put it”. If each laundry bag has an iron on label attached to it differentiating between dark colored clothing and white clothing, you can insist that soiled laundry be placed directly into the correct bags. This way you can avoid having mounds of dirty laundry for you to sort through.
I would also recommend labeling all containers. The containers in your playroom should be labeled. Yu can easily print labels off of your computer or use a p-touch label maker to create neat and easy to read labels. You might want to color code it to make it easier on the kids. How about make a different label color for each shelf in the closet. Yes, it may take time in the beginning, but it will be worthwhile in the long run. Have your children help you out, by sorting out the toys and choosing the right containers. Having them directly involved in this project will make them more excited to pitch in and keep the house looking organized. And one of the most rewarding parts of the whole organizing effort is that not only you will appreciate the new and organized look the kids will enjoy it to. No one wants to live in a mess, not even the kids. Do yourself a favor and take some time to get organized and to stick to it.
